About This Project

My name is Jackson Livingood, and I am a Senior at Journeys School of Teton Science Schools. As part of a graduation requirment, it is mandatory that each senior completes a Creativity Action Service Project (or CAS Project for short). This is my project...

I have lived in Jackson Hole for 9 years, and while I can say that I know a lot about the community I live in, there are still plenty of aspects that are mysterious and unfamiliar. For this project, I decided to focus on one of these mysterious and unfamiliar topics: Food. At the beginning, I focused strictly on food and how it used on the Campus of Journeys School. My goal was to eventually create a greenhouse that would be used to grow food for the dining hall, as well be used as a place of learning for science classes. I worked hard, and came far along in the process of planing and permiting, hoping to one day see this greenhouse built. However, the school had other plans, and my project was cancelled.

This was not the end of my CAS project though, and I have created this website in order to to fullfil my goal of not only learning about food in Jackson Hole, but sharing it to all that are searching. I hope you enjoy and learn as much as I have.

What is the Local Food Guide?

This website is created with the sole goal of gathering all of Jackson Hole's local food information into a single location. By doing this, it is now easier to find out about all sorts of information that pertains to Jackson Hole such as local farms, farmers markets, where to buy, what to buy, etc. Next, this website focuses on breaking down all of the local farms in the area by what they offer, how they operate, and unique characteristics. By doing this, local farms will be broken down and classified in groupings that will make shoping local way more easy.

A photo of myself that doesn't give away my true identity.

A special shout out to my mentor, Ethan. I couldn't have done this project without you.
